Creating Media to Create Awareness for MMIW

Native Americans go missing at a disproportionate rate in the United States. Across borders, from Canada, the United States, to Mexico the alarming rate of missing Indigenous people only increases over the years. There are many factors as to why the number Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Men, and Boys continue to grow.

This demographic is overlooked by the mainstream media and the lack of attention is hurting the community. Why are the MMIW/G not seeing a decline in numbers? And where does the responsibilty lie? Factors to consider is that federal government agencies don’t have comprehensive data on these missing persons cases,  there is a lack of resources for tribal entities , and racism targeted toward Indigenous peoples.

Furthermore, complicated jurisdictions between federal, state and tribal govenments create added levels of complications and unsolved cases.
